Hysterical baby each night around midnight

Ladies can anyone tell me when to start a routine for babies? My lb is only a week and 4 days old, however he seems to be wide awake at night and sleeps most of the day. He doesnt wake easily during the day cause he is so little. At around 12ish every night he gets himself into such a state crying and flailing his arms and legs and be is inconsolable for hours. We have tried to feed him, change his nappy and give him cuddles when he is like this. He will settle for alittle while and start crying again. We think be may have colic, so have him on the anti-colic bottles however it doesnt seem to have helped. Ftm and just not sure how to help my little man when this happens. Can anyone tell me if he could possibly getting his nights and days mixed up?
