Ivf question should I tie my tubes during ivf ?

Question

Ok so I’m being told that I need to tie or remove my tubes permanently if I’m doing 
IVF because I have blocked tubes already and there saying my blocked tubes could mess my pregnancy up if I become pregnant should I tie my tubes during my 
IVF process I really don’t know what to do and I’m being told I can’t put twins and I’ve been trying to get pregnant for 9 years and finally got the opportunity to do 
IVF and they’re saying I can’t put twins when I would rather put twins incase I don’t get this opportunity again
Supposedly they said my tubes fluid could leak to the fetus and cause miscarriage I’m just so confused

Well, I'm highly confused as to why they'd tie your tubes if they're blocked. Plenty of people keep their tubes as they are, blocked or open, during IVF treatment. I'm no doctor and mine are open (again, didn't need them tied) and I did IVF. Maybe look into that if your clinic is telling you that. 
As far as twins... the first thing I'll say is that IVF is not a sure thing. I've transferred two embryos (one each transfer) and have a miscarriage and an implantation failure to show for it. Just because you put the embryo in there does not mean it will implant. It's unfortunate but this is all a gamble. Secondly, multiple pregnancies are high risk. That's why they don't recommend two embryos to certain age groups no matter how long you've been trying. They can be dangerous for babies and mamas. Third, embryos can split. It's rare but it happens. What would you do if both of those embryos split and you were pregnant with 4 babies? The risks with that are astronomical. 
Again, I'm no doctor and I can only speak from experience. My current husband and I have been trying for 3 years, but i tried for 5 with my exhusband so 8 collective years. At this point I just want a healthy pregnancy and baby. I only transfer one embryo at a time because I don't want to put myself in a position where I'd be jeopardizing my pregnancy. This is a personal choice- I'd be elated if I had twins, for sure, I just don't like the associated risk. Good luck in whatever you decide.
