How did they test your glucose levels after birth?

**Those that had Gestational Diabetes**
Do you eat a meal and then check 2 hours after or do you have to do another glucose tolerance test? 
I have gestational diabetes, diet controlled and I'm 22. I've been extremely worried about having diabetes after my induction next week. I'm terrified. 
Did your numbers go back to normal? Please state if you were diet or insulin controlled..

I asked for an A1C after birth through my general practitioner, but my OB didn’t do a glucose test with the drink and blood draws. Mine was normal.
However, I’m now 7 weeks pregnant and my numbers are already being stupid. I won’t be shocked if I end up with regular diabetes after this. It just runs so heavily in my family.

I was diet controlled, but kept having issues with really low levels in the mornings. After I had my baby I kept having my levels checked for two weeks (purely because I had to be hospitalized for a non pregnancy related issue) after that they did a two hour glucose test at 8 weeks post partum and I passed with flying colours. Apparently it’s quite low risk of getting diabetes after having gestational diabetes, slightly higher if it runs in your family.

I was diet controlled during pregnancy and then I did a postpartum two hour glucose test about eight weeks pp. everything back to normal.

I was diet controlled. After giving birth everything went back to normal and then at my 10wk appointment they started acting up again. The last 2 years they have been borderline diabetic and they said it was postpartum diabetes. I’m now pregnant again and my sugars and A1C just jumped. I’m on insulin this time and I might end up being a full blown diabetic after this 🤦🏻‍♀️

After birth they stopped checking my sugars and I didn’t have to check them at home.
