Possible induction, what should I expect??

I’m on my way to a possible induction, what should I expect? My family is scaring me saying induction = c-section as well as double the pain and that is something that is starting to terrify me. Plssss someone give me advice 🙏🙏
40 weeks today and doc said baby’s heartbeat dropped slightly twice in 30 minutes without me feeling contractions which is why I’m heading to L&D

I was induced and had no mention of c section. It was my first pregnancy and I was trying for natural, so it was definitely painful and intense until I got the epidural. Maybe if I’d gotten it sooner I could have avoided a lot of that but I didn’t want to so I did what I could. Once I got the epidural I took a nice long nap and woke up and pushed for 5 min, felt absolutely nothing, not even pressure. Overall I had a fairly pleasant experience and I’d do it all over again the same way if I had to. I’ve also had several friends get induced and not have c sections, but it all depends on what’s happening during labor. Good luck mama! ♥️

I was induced, as soon as I got an epidural I felt literally no pain, and I had a very fast and vaginal birth! So tears, no stitches, it was the best experience I’ve had!

I've had 2 inductions and 0 csections. I got hooked up to pitocin and in a few hours had contractions and basically normal labors. I've also had 4 epidurals and reccomend one if you are feeling anxious or overwhelmed. It might help you relax and progress. I've went into labor on my own twice too. Pitocin contractions are stronger but not the worst thing ever. I waited until I was 6cm to get an epidural and had my 3rd about an hour later... 😁🥰 good luck! Yay baby!!

I was induced and didn’t need a c-section! My Pitocin was started around 8:30am, water was broken around 11, got the epidural around 12, and started pushing at 9:32pm. My daughter was born at 12:44am. I actually begged for a c section while I was pushing and my nurse just laughed at me 😑😂. Induction definitely doesn’t automatically mean a c section!! Good luck!!!!

Induction does not mean c section!! I was induced, it was 100% double the pain but that is at the fault of my nurse as she didnt get the epidural for me in time and I went through a natural birth with Pitocin which I will 1. Never recommend 2. Never do again lol. Just make sure you are on that epidural list and then you won’t have to feel a thing 😂 
I got the foley bulb. It hurt but it was an outpatient procedure that is non-medical. You could ask about that. It kickstarted my labor for me nicely

Induction does not mean c section. It can lead to it if you try to soon before your body is ready and your cervix isn’t ready. However, dropping in baby’s heart beat too much can mean a c section. Regardless you need to trust your doctor to do what’s safest for your baby, especially if the heart rate is dropping.

I had 2 successful unplanned inductions. Unfortunately, it kind of invalidated all of the stuff I learned in the birthing class about positions and walking around... but it all worked out.

I will say that pitocin contractions are no joke. 😬 My induction did end in a c section, but the vast majority do not. I’m sure you’ll be fine. (:

The majority of inductions do not end in c-section. The risk is higher, but it still doesn’t happen most of the time. Not all inductions are even very long. Mine was 14 hours start to finish, 10 hours of actually labor. The Cervidil put me into labor so I never needed Pitocin, but it does make contractions more painful and close together sooner. My water broke before labor even started which does basically the same thing. The pain is hard, but pain relief is most likely an option if you want it. I say most likely because I wanted an epidural but it failed, so I basically went natural even though I didn’t want to
