Dentist appointment?

FTM here and I’m not sure if we need to make an appointment, my daughter has two teeth and a third coming in and I keep seeing that i need to brush her teeth with a grain of baby safe tooth paste and schedule an appointment but I’m not sure because I’m not seeing that info everywhere? I do brush her teeth but not with anything just water on it.

My children's pediatric dentist suggest going at 1yr. Or when baby gets 1st tooth.

My pediatrician said go 6 months after the first tooth. She currently has 4 with a 5th in progress and I brush them with her toothbrush and water. They told me not to use paste until she hits 9 months. Seems like everyone’s doctor has their own preferences.

Yes as soon as baby has their first tooth you need to make a doctors appts. That’s what my cousin said who is a dentist. I have also been wiping his gums since he started to eat solids. He has zero teeth, but as soon as one pops in he will be going to the dentist.

Most of my friends said they did at 1. I am going to ask at her 9mo appt and see what doctor says. She has two very small teeth at the moment that wouldn’t even be worth an appt at this point.

We have a family friend who is a dental hygienist and her office doesn't typically see babies until they are one year old. She recommended using a baby toothbrush with the tiniest amount of baby toothpaste now that he has 2 teeth.

Honestly my oldest still hasn't been to the dentist and she's almost 3. She gets her teeth brushed daily (twice if were being good 😅) with a kids sonicare toothbrush and adults' nano hydroxyapatite toothpaste, which is just as effective as fluoride toothpaste but is safe to swallow, and her teeth look shiny and white so I'm not too worried - though tbh I probably would have taken her in the past few months if covid hadn't happened, since she finally is at an age where she'll sit still and let someone look at her teeth. Before then, she would have just wriggled and screamed and it would have been pointless. Besides, it's not as if they're going to really give a filling to a one year old or something, so since there don't appear to be any issues we're going to wait until covid calms down.

Where I’m at the pediatric dentists do first appt at one year old, just an initial checkup. I use the brush that slides on my finger and a tiny bit of infant paste.

Infant paste yes. We did first appointment at 2 where we live. They wouldn’t see us at 1.
