Would this be hurtful to you????

My boyfriend always throws up what he does for me. Yesterday we were in a small argument and he said to me ...” I do more for you than your own mama or daddy ever has” ... I don’t have a relationship with either of them and never have and he knows that . I told him it was hurtful and he said he didn’t mean it to be hurtful .. im sorry but there is no other way to take it other than the way I did .. right????? Was this mean and vindictive on his part ?
