Letting family meet baby?

Question

What’s everyone’s plan for having baby meet family once he/she’s born?
Wearing masks? No masks?
Allowed to look but not hold?
Going on as normal and not worried?
I’ll be 35 weeks Wednesday and really torn on what to do.

As of now we will allow family to visit as “normal” but they will wash as soon as they walk in, won’t kiss or touch babies face and the time will be limited. First visits will likely be by FaceTime. Our state is doing “ok” but we’re playing it by ear and will adapt as needed. I honestly would rather get a visit out of the way and keep people away after the fact instead of be bugged constantly.

No visitors for a month after birth. COVID is spiking in my area, and we're not willing to take that risk. Our family and friends will have to make do with pictures and FaceTime. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I plan on asking my ob and seeing what they say in the hospital as well but so far our plan is no one touching for the first 2 weeks, then we will allow grandparents first and then 2 more weeks and aunt and uncles can. Not sure if we'll make them wear masks, probably though and of course handwashing before.

Family who didn’t self isolate before baby came for at least 10 days will wear a mask but just gonna be my sister and her hubby and kids... my parents are self isolating before baby is here and everyone else loves 8+ hrs away

Cases in my state are very very low and my doctor said the transmission rate is low, so no extra precautions as of now. So we are doing visitors like normal as if there were no covid. If someone wants to hold the baby they will wear a mask, and then obviously hand washing right when they come over. I figured family and close friends can come over one at a time the week we get home, and then probably no visitors for a few weeks so we can settle in and bond with the baby. If cases start to rise again like in other states, we will change our plan.

We live in an apartment and I don’t have a backyard to go and show them the baby. So far, our rule is get the covid swab test and you’re welcome to come in the apartment. Wearing masks, sanitized and no holding baby. I have been extremely careful because I’m in the nyc area and we had it terribly here, it’s not now that I’m gonna relax how careful I’ve been.

We have a toddler that my parents and mother in law help watch, so for them they’ll be allowed to meet baby since they’ve already been exposed. 
My FIL travels for his job... I am contemplating making him wear a mask if he wants to meet baby at all, or possibly having him wait to meet baby forawhile. I don’t think realistically he can quarantine for 2 weeks because of his job.
We will obviously do the strict hand washing, ect and the only other thing I’ll probably be crazy about is no kissing. Anywhere. Just how people like to snuggle baby, hold them close, then kiss their head —- except none of that. It sounds simple enough but it amazes me how people think they can kiss babies freeingly lol.
My daughter was a preemie so it was super easy to enforce rules. My OB is anticipating I’m going to deliver early again, so I don’t know what I’ll do exactly if this one comes early.
It’s so stressful period, do what you feel is right!

My husband and I agreed that there will be no visitors for the first two weeks at least. When they do visit, hands will be washed/sanitized and likely wearing masks! Thankfully both our families are very understanding and have no problems with these rules!

We were just talking about this. My pqrents will meet her because my older two will be with them. Mil is coming down but she has been isolated. Fil isnt traveling i believe. When she is a couole months old we will take her to meet the rest of the inlaws. Everyone will be working from home and our governor ordered no in person schooling so i think that will be easiest.

Thinking maybe first two weeks no visitors. After that we will go to visit who we are comfortable with. No kissing, must wash hands, healthy. I’m was bad with our first about who was around her and this time is going to be worse.
