15 month baby not walking?

Question

Is it normal for a 15 month old baby to not walk yet? She’s taken 2-5 steps but doesn’t seem ready to go off on her own. She’s also on the heavy side weighing 30 pounds so she’s super chubby and thick so maybe that’s why? She’s met all the other milestones and can stand by herself long periods of time. She’s super super active can out crawl me.

Totally normal!! No correlation on when a baby walks to intellect. They all get there in their own time. My Dad was 2 before he walked (much to my Grandma’s embarrassment) and he ended up extremely successful! So do not worry at all! X

It’s normal! No need to worry. My first born didn’t crawl until 11 months old and walked at 17 months old.

My little guys is almost 15mo, doesn’t walk on his own more than a few steps, but does great when he holds our hand! He walks with us often as long as he has a finger to grip knto for balance. He says words that still sound like gibberish, and I’m not sure even he knows what they mean, and to me it seems like he’s focusing more on moving than language, but it’s still worrying me. :/

My daughter isn’t walking independently. She only started pulling to stand regularly at 14.5 mo and is now cruising at 15mo. Her pediatrician isn’t worried at all.
She says around 150 words at this point and strings words together so he thinks she’s been focusing on language rather than movement. I won’t worry until 18mo.

I work at a daycare. We tend to do get a little worried when they 18 months bc they go up to the toddler.

When in doubt, talk to your pediatrician. I always feel better when I hear things from the doc.

I would say she’s fine because she stands and has taken steps. She will be walking really soon.
