Freaking out just a little!

So yesterday was a big day for me.

My husband and I had been TTC off and on for about a year when I went to my OBGYN and found out my hormones were all messed up and I wasn't ovulating. After an exam we also discovered that my glands that are supposed to provide lubrication during sex were chronically inflammed due to an underlying disorder. Sex had always been painful so I was relieved to hear there was a solution!

We put trying on hold while I had surgery and physical therapy to fix the pain during sex, and planned to start hormone therapy after my recovery.

Backing up a little more, I was diagnosed with endometriosis at age 15 and had surgery for it at age 16. I've been on birth control after that most of my life to regulate my periods. After getting off birth control 2 years ago my periods were so unpredictable and I often skipped months.

Cut to a month after my surgery and my period showed up right on time for the first time in my life! And the next month, the same thing happened! I was shocked! I went back to my OBGYN who tested my hormones again and to our surprise my body corrected itself and I started ovulating on my own for the first time in years!

Excited, we planned to start TTC next month, giving ourselves this month to just enjoy things getting better in the bedroom.

Yesterday was 7DPO for me according to Glow but I decided to take a test just to show myself I wasn't pregnant so that I didn't obsess about it.

And then it popped positive! A big ole 2 lines almost right away! I almost had a panic attack, everything suddenly got so real!

I'm excited to go on this journey but I'm also terrified. There's so much to do and plan for, and I'm not looking forward to all the awful parts of pregnancy, like morning sickness. But we're here now, so I'm strapping in to enjoy the ride!

We can't wait to tell everyone but for now I'll confide in you, my fellow Mammas!
