what labor signs did you experience?

Hi everyone, I’m currently 38+1 (SO close😅) and honestly at this point I’m just over being pregnant lol I want my baby boy in my arms and not crowding my organs 😂 for about 3-4 days now I’ve been having some period like cramps. Nothing too crazy but definitely enough for me to notice them and feel a bit of discomfort. My doctor apparently doesn’t do cervical checks until after the 40 week mark to prevent inducing labor by checking.. I was pretty disappointed when I was told that because I would love to know if I’m starting to make progress. Other than the cramping, I haven’t had any of the other signs of labor.. what was your experience like?? What are somethings you have done to safely make some progress? 9 months of waiting and these last few weeks seem to feel like the longest 😭😭😭 I want my baby outtttt!!!!!!

Hey! I’m 39 weeks today. I’ve had two cervical checks that were just kind of painful to be told I’m not dilated at all and baby’s head is down (which I knew). The cervical checks don’t even really tell you anything, because you can be dilated for weeks at a time. That being said, I’m totally there with you on being over the wait. I was doing great until about a week ago, and now I’m super uncomfortable and can’t sleep. In terms of things to get labor going, I wouldn’t do or take anything unless it has been approved by your OB/midwife. You could call and ask if it’s safe to take or do anything people think can start labor progress. I have an appointment on my due date, and if I make it that far I plan to ask.

i had no signs before i went to my doctor at 38+3 and she checked me i was a tight 1cm she originally thought i was closed but she got a finger in and she tried to stretch it a bit. she said i would most likely go overdue and need to be induced but after that appt i was experiencing very small cramps barely noticeable though and some spotting i did so many squats starting that day too even in the shower even if it was 5 at a time then rest for a little then do some more. i started to lose my mucus plug every day for about a week after my appt and the spotting as well and at midnight at 39+2 my water broke! after my water broke i had my bloody show and this is so gross and tmi but i couldnt stop going poop and throwing up guess my body was clearing out for labor like they say 😂she was born at 10:46pm that day. i was in labor for almost 24 hrs. pushed for 1hr 40minutes. i honestly had no signs of labor either before hand so i dont know if it was her checking me, the squats, both, or baby was just ready. best of luck and i hope baby comes soon! i know how much u want baby here when its only weeks left!
