crush leaving me on opened

so boys are weird and i don’t rly understand them so i guess i’m just hoping someone knows what this means lol. so i like this guy, we hooked up a few times, and yeah i’m just really into him and i think he likes me too. but recently he’s been leaving me on opened for hours. but the thing is tho is that he always ends up responding later. but why does he open it and then wait like 5 hours to respond... like why wouldn’t he just leave me on delivered for 5 hours if he’s gonna respond to me anyway. obviously he cares enough to snap me first later but why doesn’t he just respond right after he opens it..? i guess i’m just wondering does this mean he doesn’t care or this just him playing hard to get?
