Way to calm down outbreak without medicine

Ok normally I take an antiviral before a genital herpes outbreak. This time I didn’t and it’s itchy AF and hurts after I pee. Would not taking them help my body fight it off better rather than relying on medicine? Trying to build my immunity so I don’t have to keep taking medicine at every outbreak. How do you manage an outbreak? Or prevent them? I’ve been getting them every 2 months as of February it’s annoying.
