Breastfeeding, cluster feeding, pumping
My 2 week old seems to be cluster feeding...but I’m worried I’m not producing enough for him. And yes I understand that the more he eats the more I produce but he is constantly eating and yet acts starved. I really want to breastfeed but not if he is going to be struggling to get enough. I feel like I’m not good enough which isn’t helping. He acts as though he is starving. I ordered a scale online to track his weight and he has an appointment on Thursday but I am feeling so helpless that I decided to supplement 2 ounces in order to get some rest because he is demanding to be fed, and I’m serious about the demanding part, almost every 30 minutes it seems. He doesn’t fall asleep like he had been after eating and will lay down for maybe 5 minutes and then wake back up as if he hadn’t been fed for 6 hours. Is this what cluster feeding is like? I’m going to start pumping more often and maybe that will help encourage more milk.
