How to move out?

I’m 18 and would like to move out. Does anyone have any advice? I have around $2k saved up and am currently looking for a job. I don’t have a car or anything either. Just looking for advice and resources so I can start off my life on my own. Thanks :)

You need to be realistic and wise. With this pandemic and possibly entering a recession u need to have more than enough saved and a job u see job security at. I know you want independence but count the cost and make sure youre truly prepared so u not living paycheck to paycheck. You dont want bad rental history or to mess up your credit because u didn’t anticipate wht could go wrong. 
     In this economy if u dont hv to move out i wouldnt unless the environment is toxic. Set goals and then move out. I recommend saving 6 months worth of monthly expenses.

Don’t move out until you have a job. Most places will require you to show at least two weeks proof of income. 2k sounds like a decent amount to start with considering you will most likely have to put down a deposit + rent and then get things for your apartment like furniture, silverware, toiletries etc. You could go ahead and apply for some apartments but they will ask how much you make monthly!

Unfortunately $2000 is not nearly enough to have saved up to move out, depending on where you’re from of course though. You’ll likely have to submit deposits along with rent which can be super expensive. My rent is $1500 a month (normal here.. just depends where you live), but we had to put down $4000 when we got the place for the deposits plus first months rent plus something else I can’t remember. 
If you don’t use public transportation or aren’t within walking distance you’ll def need a car first. Imagine having to go to the store bringing home groceries with no vehicle! Or if you have an appointment not nearby, things come up where you’ll prob need a car first! If you’re moved out you don’t want to have to call someone to come to your house to drive you somewhere!
You’ll need a job for sure, a steady income will be mandatory. Many ppl can’t afford a place alone, especially if it’s their first place, so you may need some roommates
It really depends on where you’re from but I would say you need a MINIMUM of $5000 saved up, a car, and a job first. And that would be cutting it close in my eyes, I saved up a lot more than that and so thankful I did bc things to come up where you will have a ton of extra bills one month (car issues, broken phone, hospital bills, etc) 
My advice is to stay at home still for awhile longer and first get a job, save up for a car, then save up to move out. It will take awhile but you want to be prepared before moving out before you’re ready. This is why so many ppl have had to move back in with their parents, they weren’t prepared or things happen they weren’t expecting, esp now with covid pandemic, so many have lost their job and now no income and tons of bills! So you want to make sure that doesn’t happen to you and feel totally prepared, not have to be stressing about money every month

Don’t move out without a job. $2k might seem like a lot saved up, but that goes fast. You’re young, but you learn real quickly after moving out that life takes a lot of money. Depending where you live and how public transportation is, I’d recommend buying a car first. Otherwise without reliable transportation, that will hurt your chances a lot of getting a good job. 
I’d suggest casually looking at apartments in areas you’d want to live, get an idea for prices, and look up moving out budget planners so you can get an accurate idea of how much you need to be making weekly/monthly to move out.
