How do you manage money?

Question

I'm a grad student who finally has a TA position so I will be making $600 a week between that and my side gig. This is the most money I have ever made and the first time I won't have to worry about deciding which payment to make late.
How do you manage this much money? I've tried budgeting, but it hasn't been helpful for me. Do not suggest Dave Ramsey, because I'm not interested.

What do you mean manage it? Put it in the bank and pay your bills with it. Whatever is leftover is disposable income.

Subtract all your essentials from your monthly amount (rent, phone bill, food, etc) and what I do is split what’s left in two. Half goes in savings and half stays in my chequing. I do not transfer from my savings unless it’s an emergency.

I am paid twice per month, so I pay bills twice per month. I have my bills divided so it’s about the same amount each half of the month. My credit card I pay off twice per month so it’s not so daunting at the end of the month. I get paid, pay the bills for that period, and put the rest into savings leaving about $200 in my checking for my debit card.

You need to budget otherwise you may end up blowing your money before bills are paid. Even if you may not have bills now, you will at some point and will need to learn to budget eventually. I’d suggest making a list of all of your expenses (rent, phone, insurance, car, etc.) and the corresponding amounts. Also account for savings and retirement (you need to have a savings and retirement account). Whatever is left over is for non-essential expenses (movies, going out to eat, etc.). Keep track of your expenses in a spreadsheet or a notebook or something similar. I manage our expenses by tracking them in the “Notes” app on my phone. You’ll have to experiment until you find a method that works.

Barefoot investor by Scott Pape is great book for starting basic financial foundation for yourself. How to budget the EASIEST way you can draw it on a napkin, yet super effective. Then 6 steps to work towards future goals like house, savings, etc.. 
It's an Australian book, but as a US person totally still relevant to anyone. This book has made budgeting simple and a set forget, meanwhile avoiding fees that ear your money. 
Plus easy and kinda fun read, unlike other boring finance gurus. Kindle should have it?

Pay your bills, but limit “fun money” for a while until your checking account builds up to at least a few thousand before you start blowing money. Open a savings account and deposit as much as you can.

Have you tried the YNAB (you need a budget) app?
Basically you take your expenses for the month subtract from your monthly income. Then whatever is left you decide to either save or spend. 
Getting into the habit of saving some amount of money every month will help you make bigger purchases in the future without taking on debt to do it. 
If you’re a TA, that means you’re in grad school or something? If yes, your college or university most likely offers some kind of financial literacy or planning workshops. Find one; attend it. 
Figuring out how to effectively manage your money will be one of the best gifts you’ve ever given yourself.

One week pay immediately goes in the savings, one week pay to play, 2 weeks worth of pay goes to bills/groceries.
