We were not prepared to bring our little one into the world 🌎 yet but she was ready to join the party πŸŽ‰.

My water broke on Wednesday at 5:00 pm. I called my doctor's office who told me to pack my bag because it sounds like baby πŸ‘Ά is coming. I was given a steroid shot to make sure our little 34 week 5 day baby had the extra boost to her lungs. For the next 48 hours I remained in the hospital and was strapped to the NST to monitor to make sure baby's heart rate was alright. After 48 hours the benefits to keeping her in decreased and it was decided it was best to induce labor. I was given pitocin and 3 hours later I felt the sudden urge to push. TBH it just felt like I needed to go to the bathroom! Then with 3 good pushes she was out.

In total shock our baby girl was delivered at 9:31 pm on July 31st. This was not the birth story I anticipated but I am so grateful she here. She is currently in the NICU but is doing really well. Looking forward to bringing her home - hopefully soon!

As for what to bring in your hospital bag - I didn't need anything besides shower stuff (I took a nice warm shower when I was dialating from 1-2 cm), and clothing to wear on my way home. I wore the hospital gown and underwear. Don't get me wrong, we had LOADS OF STUFF, but really didn't need most of it. A long charging cable was convenient. Oh and an eye mask! Otherwise most of the stuff was untouched.

While I didn't post much in this group it was really helpful and supportive to read everyone's messages over these months. I wish all you all an easy and uneventful delivery!
