Cradle cap?

Hi all, little one is now 17 months, the last week I have noticed yellow flaky dry patches all over his scalp. 
I always use non-perfumed baby wash and shampoo anyway as he is a dry skinned baby.
He never had craddle cap or anything as a baby and it’s only come up randomly. I had been using oil and combing bits out but is he too old for craddle cap? Could it be anything else?

My son has had a horrible time with eczema, we finally have it controlled. For a while he had a flaky scalp and the doctor gave him a steroid that cleared it up very quickly and it never came back. If it doesn’t clear using normal cradle cap methods I would suggest seeing a doctor.

My son has this and hasn’t had cradle cap since the newborn phase. It has gotten a lot better with some oil treatment before bath, and we’ve been washing and combing the flakes out daily with a very fine comb. Asking the doctor about it tomorrow actually. Now that it’s under control I guess we’ll try not washing so often? I’m not really sure.
