Over the top in laws

This may seem odd BUT....

My father in-law called my husband and said “don’t worry about anything baby related your covered”. That statement made me very uncomfortable. His family are HUGE sports fans and I am not like that at all. I have a feeling that we will get nothing but sports clothing and they are even talking about painting the baby’s room sport team colors! And I feel like they are taking something away from me and my husband. Might be odd to be so worried about it but it just makes me uncomfortable.
