How do I get my 1 year old to leave the dog alone?

My dog is very gentle and patient but lately my daughter who just turned one in July has been pulling her ears and tail. And I tell her no and remove her from where the dog is. But now the dog is starting to growl at her and she’s never done that before. She’s a 70 pound dog and I’m so afraid she’s going to attack my daughter. She’s has not snapped or anything like that yet but she’s starting to growl now and it’s scaring me. And the way our house is set up makes it even harder to separate the two because we have a super open floor plan. I don’t know what to do anymore.
