Does your baby give hugs and kisses? My doctor said my son is a little bit behind and wants to see him again at 18 months (social wise)

I didn’t get asked about hugs and kisses, just what his social awareness was like, pointing, listening to directions, responds to name, makes eye contact, if he plays peek-a-boo, how many words he is saying etc. He doesn’t give kisses, and I don’t know that he knows what hugs are, because if I asked I don’t think he’ll give me a hug but he does hug my leg and climbs to snuggle me, sort of like a hug.

Our pediatrician didn’t ask about hugs and kisses but did ask about following directions and asked if he follows two step directions. I don’t think I’ve given him two step directions... 
Mine can give hugs and kisses but is very stingy with them. He’ll occasionally give me a “snuggle” if he’s in the mood and sometimes puts his mouth on your face if you ask for a kiss. You’re more likely to get a raspberry than a kiss. If there are multiple things he’s not doing, then maybe there is space for concern. I think it’s fair to say, though, that some kids aren’t really into the hugs and kisses. Mine won’t stop moving long enough to give a kiss and that means he’s doing what you want instead of you doing what he wants. Which is far preferred.

Kisses yes (most of the time) but no hugs. Then again I don’t think he even knows what a hug is? Not something we’ve worked on. Pediatrician didn’t ask us about that at 15m appointment though.

We have a “hug and kisses” book that he loves and he started to give hugs and kisses even when asked after we got the book. Books are so wonderful really. The “ear book” is another favorite and he claps, snaps, taps his foot, points to his ears (and other body parts now). Although I have one that tells him not to bite mom and he still does it when he’s teething 😂 my pedi didn’t ask at the 15 month apt if he was giving hugs or kisses 🤷🏼‍♀️.
