My boyfriend and I have lived together 8 months. We got a puppy the first couple months unexpectedly that I paid the majority for. I’m the one who buys his food and feeds him and lets him out and walks him and buys him toys and everything he’d need(the majority of the time). Recently the dog has been getting in trouble for getting into the garbage, kids diapers, eating poop, begging, being in the kitchen(since I don’t allow him to, because he will stare and beg no matter how many times you yell at him). Lately I can’t take it and I’ve asked my boyfriend to take care of his dog and oblige to cleaning him and the messes he makes. I’m sick of my house smelling like a wet dog and having shit in the shared grass of our townhomes. We’ve even lately received a letter saying we need to start cleaning it or there will be a penalty. My bed and carpet stink everywhere upstairs because of the dog. I’ve about had it. My boyfriend isn’t respecting me or my property( both our names are on the lease but I own certain furniture as does he) and I’ve asked him so many times to correct his dogs bad behaviors and to take care of his messes outside and he refuses. I’m ready to take the dog and find him a new home. I need advice what do you all think. Am I being crazy by having my certain rules about animals being in the kitchen, staring at me begging, being dried after he runs in the mud or rain outside before he goes on the carpet? My boyfriend says I am crazy but honestly it’s disgusting living and smelling the dogs filth because it’s not being taken care of. My boyfriend just blames the mess and smell on my kids. Wtf?
