High risk

So I am considered high risk due to diabetes and I have had about 10 m/c. But I do have 4 healthy children. Cycles are really irregular so when I found out I was pregnant and had no idea how far along I was. I ended up being 8 weeks and baby had a heartbeat of 174. Told him I have been having a lit of cramping that was about the only thing. Dr did not order a hcg or progesterone test when he did blood work.. is that even normal? I know my last m/c my progesterone was low it was like a 7. Do they just not draw those labs after a certain point and they have seen and heard a heartbeat? Just curious if anyone had any idea
