Should I do it?

My ex and I broke up about 6 months ago. I’ve been spending a lot of time with a new guy. He wants to have sex but sex in my last relationship was 99% of the time painful and unenjoyable for me which is making me hesitant. I’m worried it’s going to be painful/unenjoyable again and it will ruin what we have started. Should I give it a go or should I wait?

Other than the previous pain, if you *want to* have sex and are otherwise emotionally ready then I would go for it! I would mention to him that it has been painful for you in the past. If he is attentive to that and does what he can to make it a good experience you know he is a keeper! If he is not, I would shut it allllll down right then!

There’s is definitely no rush for sex whatsoever. I just broke up with someone that I was with for 3 years and I noticed after we weren’t meeting ends anymore, sex started to become a nightmare. I think it depends how emotionally ready you are. He should give you some space to get ready for something like that. I don’t think there is anything to rush nor do I think you shouldn’t go for it but make sure you have formed a connection with him first then lead to that. Best of luck ❤️💜
