Sibling relationship

Tell me what's its like having siblings. I'm an only child and my mother just died a few weeks ago. I feel so horribly lonely not having any "direct family ". I'm surrounded by aunts, uncles, and cousins but it doesn't fell the same. I wish i had a sibling. Ive never wanted one until this moment.

I just had my first child 10 weeks ago and my husband and i started talking about #2. Then i got thinking about how amazing my relationship was with my mother as an only child and I wonder if I want that with my son.

I guess what I'm asking is if you ever felt in competition with your sibling for your parents love? Did one of you have a better relationship with your parents? Things like that.

Sorry this is all over the place, so many thoughts in my head. 🥴😢
