Safe Self Removal?

Question

Has anyone ever removed their IUD themselves? Hubby and I want to start talking about trying for #4 but I don’t want to pay $100 to just have the thing taken out. My OB/GYN isn’t in my Network anymore so we’re switching providers so I can keep going to her but it’s gonna take awhile and we wanted to start trying ASAP if we decide to do it. Could really use some advice. Thanks, ladies!

Either wait, go to someone else who's in network for the time being to remove, or go to planned Parenthood. Removal is easy if everything is ok but there's no way to know if there's something wrong with the IUD until you pull it and you want to be in a safe place so if something happens there's a doctor to take care of you. 
You aren't trained on removing iuds so you might pull too hard and cause internal damage, among other things. The last thing you want is a hole in your uterus especially if you want to try for a baby.

No definitely not because you can easily rip something then you'll just end up having to go to the doctor and cost more. I've seen way to many people in the emergency room because of it. PS. I work at a hospital.
