Which is more effective: an IUD, or birth control pills?

I'm currently on an OC, and he pulls out just to make sure. But I've been thinking about getting an IUD instead, because my memory is terrible, which doesn't go well with oral contraceptives. Which one is more effective? I can also be allergic to metal, so I would have to go with a hormonal IUD.

I loved my iud! Best bc! It’s more effective and you don’t have to worry about it. No same time of the day worrying, no medications interact with it.

I’ve been using oral contraceptives for over a year now. I’ve also had quite a few accidents with pulling out and I haven’t gotten pregnant not once. It is hard to remember I’m not going to lie but maybe try setting and alarm. Or take it as soon as you wake up or go to bed. I personally think iuds come with too many problems and side effects. Falling out, infections, longer periods, cramping even when your not on your period, etc.
