Pregnant and breastfeeding

I went to the doctor today as I found out I am nearly 4 weeks pregnant and I was telling her how I am still breastfeeding my 1 year old.

She told me that I should stop completely as I need to provide nutrition for my unborn child and it will be too hard to do that while still breastfeeding. I was shocked to say the least.

My LO breastfeeds quite a bit 3-4 times in the day and night and Im feeling so emotional right now because she isnt ready to stop and I cant just take it away from her. Plus its our bonding time.

Please can anyone shed some light. Has anyone breastfed while pregnant without any complications to their pregnancy.

If I can I want to continue for atleast another 5 months. She nurses to sleep and it comforts her... and that doesnt bother me one bit. I dont understand why the doctor would tell me to give it up 😭

Update: i have no medical issues at all.
