How much longer?

I went for my usual dr appointment at 36 weeks to have my fluid remeasured and a normal checkup, my midwife said that I’m 3cm dilated. With my daughter I didn’t start dilating until I was in full blown labor with the contractions and all that. Now that I’m dilated to 3, how much longer could it be until I have him?

That actually is unnessesary info at the moment, some go weeks with 3cm, some only days. Dialation can help telling time, if you are already in labor.

My doctor checks me and is like even though this means absolutely nothing lol my mom was three for almost four weeks

depends on if you are effaced or not. nothing really indicates imminent birth- but if you are effaced as well it could be soonish

Effacement is a far better indicator of labor timing than dilation. Ask how effaced your are next time! Last pregnancy I was 5cm when my water broke and never went into labor on my own - had to be induced
