Oil diffuser

Question

Ok ladies. I’m currently 8 weeks pregnant and can not deal with all the nausea I have this time around. I read that citrus and peppermint oils/smells are supposed to help so I was going to look into getting an oil diffuser. 
My question is: are they safe around cats if the cats are in a different room? My plan was going to be to only use it at night when I went to bed and keep them out of the room when it’s on.

Most essential oils are not safe around pets, especially being diffused into the air.

I have cats and I use an oil warmer (like the ones you use for wax cubes). I put it on the top shelf of my bookcase, because while my cats like the top of the bookcase, they avoid the top shelf.
4 drops of lemon & 2 drops of peppermint essential oils, add a bit of water, then let it be for about 2 hours (enough to warm and spread the scent) then I turn it off.
