Discharge or amniotic fluid?

How do you tell the difference? I’m sure its just discharge but it goes through a liner after 5 hours.
Is that normal? 27 weeks

Amniotic fluid is more watery and can be mistaken for urine. Discharge will be thicker. I bought some sanitary pads that detect amniotic fluid as I was worried but was just discharge. They're called Amniosense but I'm in the UK not sure where you're from and if they do them

I was told if it's amniotic fluid, there should be a gush of it at some point.

If you think your water has broken that early you need to go get swabbed! My water was just like water and tinted pink. I've heard it has a sweet smell, I never smelled mine so i don't know first hand. Call your Dr and explain to them what's happening and see what they say to do. Good luck!
