Postpartum birth control? What are you all doing?
I am absolutely terrified of getting pregnant again. I don’t think I’ll ever have any more. I’m 20 and have a 2 year old and a 2 week old. I don’t want anymore ad both my pregnancies were high risk and I almost lost them both. It took such a toll on my body. And to be completely honest I don’t enjoy the newborn stage while having a toddler. I miss hanging out with my girl all day everyday :( I can’t wait until this little one can start interacting and playing with us. So I’m done having babies. I have a boy and a girl, it’s perfect. My partner can’t get a vasectomy since we’re so young. So I’ve read the most reliable form of birth control is the iud. I had the iud for a year after I had my toddler. It wasn’t horrible I actually really enjoyed it but for some reason I’m so scared to get it again. I read side effects can include horrible cramping for months on months and heavy bleeding. With my iud I just had random spotting a few times a week. I don’t want to be in pain with cramps. Not too mention, getting it in hurts like hell!! I can’t take any contraception with hormones since I’m breastfeeding. Also I’d never remember to take the mini pill, my life is way too hectic and unorganized. The Nuva ring I thought about but is super expensive, especially since I’ll be on it for many years. The iud is free since I’m under 25. (Might not be free but it’s way cheaper) I don’t know. I just can’t get past this anxiety of the iud. Is pain really common with it?? Has anyone had good outcomes? I don’t know what to do girls.
