Im a stm and this is my first time breastfeeding..

I'm at my wits end here with the pain.. she is 5 days old. It's to the point where I don't even want to feed her. I'm tempted to go buy formula and give up altogether and just deal with the depression of it all.

I've read LLL and various articles on how to properly latch, watched videos, asked friends and family.

The C method, the U method, thumbs-up method, cradle hold, football hold, etc etc etc and I'm clearly still missing something. I want to get this right so badly.

My issues seem to be: We aren't getting a deep latch. She seems to close down on my nipple too quickly, before we can establish a deep latch. I can't figure a way to get comfortable AND get her lined up to my nipple. I wonder if my nipple is too big for her mouth to get much more in there. My boobs are too big/heavy to try the techniques described above the way they show. When I asked the LC she said her latch appeared fine and the pain would lessen and eventually go away.

I just need help.
