It’s so much easier for people to become famous these days - good or bad thing?

I feel neutral about it. Social media has provided a great forum for otherwise marginalized voices to present themselves without having to go through a million gatekeepers, but on the other hand it’s made it easier for people to get noticed for doing foolish or dangerous things as well.

If everyone is famous, it becomes less special. So I say who cares.

Define ‘famous’... like social media famous? I guess I find the whole idea of social media popularity a bit gross.. like people who take selfies and get a lot of ‘likes’ from strangers seem far different then those who become popular based on personal talent.
I don’t really think it’s ever a great thing to put someone on a pedestal or pretend they have more value then the average person just because a lot of people appreciate their talents, much less based solely on appearance

I wouldn't even say it is easier. If anything with all social media and technology it heavily dilutes the chance of becoming actually famous. As anyone and everyone is trying to be something on the internet. I think if you are actually talented it probably gives you a better chance to be noticed than back in the day but even that is still a very slim chance.
