Is femur length a good indication of height?

38 weeks and in 2nd percentile on femur length

It’s a guess. Sometimes they can be off either a little or a lot. My last pregnancy my doctor told me he didn’t like doing them because they are off and doesn’t want to give someone possibly false info.

Ultrasound is never a good indicator for the baby’s size. It can be off by up to an inch at that point and up to 1.5lbs.
Though I will say my first always measured small, and at 38.5 weeks he was born small enough we took him home in premie clothes

Yes. But... All babies are not average. Like some have still longer or shorter legs. It is a good estimate, but it can be off also.

My daughters femur lengths was always measuring a week ahead. She is 2 and at her 18 month check up she was just finally on the charts for height and weight. So I’m my experience no it doesn’t.
