Swelling during period

I swell a lot during my period and become very sensitive inside my vagina.

I've been a tampon user my whole life but for the past couple of years they cause too much irritation and are extremely painful to remove so I've been avoiding them for the most part. I'm back to pads and I hate it. I cannot use pads for the rest of my life.

I'm wanting to try a cup but I'm worried I won't be able to insert and remove it due to my swelling. I swell no matter what, tampons just seem to make it worse.

Does anyone else swell during their period and have success using a cup or disc?
