Public or private proposal??? 💍💍💍

Would you prefer public or private??? I’ve been seeing a lot of shaming for public proposals on social media lately and it made me curious as to what the actual stats are 🤔 if you’re already married pls do what happened to you and if you would have wanted something different comment about it. 🤗

My husband proposed to me in front of the Eiffel tower
It was just me & him 🥰
...But we live in Paris so he knew when and where would be a quiet spot.
Personally, i think i would have been embarrassed if it was in public with an audience but i know some people love that

I was very glad that I didn’t have a traditional proposal. We had been talking about getting married since our son was born, and we were sitting in bed one night talking about how expensive weddings are, and I mentioned how one of my family members had eloped. We ended up looking on our courthouse website and booked everything for 6 weeks later. 
For me, I’m very private with my personal life and don’t want everyone to know all our business. A lot of people didn’t even know we were together or what he looked like until we shared our wedding picture lol

People are gonna have opinions either way, it’s really about what you and your partner wants. And if they are proposing to you, it’s ideally about what they think would make the moment special to you. We got engaged in private. We’d just gotten a house and hadn’t moved furniture in yet as it needed work done and paint. Most of our dinners we ate in a cute little pantry that has a window seat off the kitchen. We’d curl up on the window seat together and eat, cuddle, talk about whatever and was at least one of my favorite parts of the day. He surprised me the day I was going to pack up my apartment and move the rest of the furniture in. He literally put a pillowcase over my head when I got home and took me to the pantry. He’d put candles all around it, set up a fancy little display with roses, wine, and grapes and the ring set out in a box. I turned around and he was down on one knee. It was really sweet and romantic and I loved it. 
The only thing I would have changed was that we could have spent more time together after getting engaged as I was literally in jeans and a tshirt about to go to my old apartment and start packing everything up, or maybe having someone there to take pictures and me not looking like a hot mess lol. But the memory is enough. 
As for a public proposal, it would be okay but I’d much prefer private. It would make me really anxious having so much attention on me

My husband proposed in our kitchen in the middle of the afternoon lol We were at a provincial landmark overlooking the ocean literally an hour before and afterwards I was like “why wouldn’t you have just done it there?” But in retrospect I was screaming “oh my god” over and over and crying while he was down on one knee.... so probably best it wasn’t in public, would have been super embarrassing lol

Buttttt, I wanted to be proposed to in Disney world. And that's a super public place 🤣

My husband knew I wanted more of a private proposal when the day came because we had talked about it a million times. That’s not what happened. He proposed at a concert (not on stage, i literally would’ve died). It was sweet & he had it planned to ask me at a specific spot during a specific song, so he had obviously put a lot of thought into it. No matter where it would’ve been done, I would’ve said yes, appreciated it, & loved it. I wish it were more intimate, but men think differently than women. Not all men think dinner & a conversation before popping the question. They usually want it to be different. He explained to me that “We can go to a restaurant or eat dinner at home any time & have a deep conversation, but how many times are you going to get to go to a concert to see your favorite bad for the first time & remember something like that so clearly for the rest of your life?” I completely understood his logic, even though it is not what I imagined in my head.

Honestly my man and I are very private so if he did it publicly I wouldn’t be mad, but I would definitely cry because that means it took a lot of planning and guts to publicly propose to me. Which he sucks at haha so I would definitely be happy he step out his comfort zone 🥰

I’m glad I mentioned something to my husband about not wanting a proposal in front of people because he had already contacted the Phillies to do a proposal during a game 😝. He ended up proposing on NYE in the hotel we were staying at.  There was this cute little balcony that overlooked the lobby and it had all the nice Christmas decorations and stuff. He proposed to me there at midnight by giving me flowers and he got on one knee and everything.  I knew it was gonna happen but I never let him know that.

I got proposed to in my living room Christmas morning opening presents.I was asked to go get something .when I was turning around I looked down an realized my partner was on one knee. I  could have done without my sister and Dad there it is what it is.
