10 week genetic testing?

Because I’m considered “geriatric” in pregnancy being 36 our doctors highly recommended the 10 week genetic bloodwork on the baby which Im all for but one thing they said was that the report will have the gender on it, even if we don’t want to know yet.  In your experience Is there a way to view the labs without seeing the gender?

I got this test done too and the paper work had a checkbox if I wanted to know the gender. And my doctor actually didn’t post it online so if I would’ve changed my mind, I wouldn’t be able to see it anyways. And you can ask your doctor to just call you and tell you the results w/o gender.

I did that test too but they called me over the phone to give me the results. I wanted to know the gender but maybe you can ask your doctor to read you the results without telling you.

It depends on what company/lab your doctor uses for the test. I'm under 35 so it wasn't highly recommended but we still chose to do it. My doctor used Myriad and when we got the results (online) there was a link that clearly stated "click here to reveal gender." And to download the in depth results page it also warned us "gender will be listed!" You could just have your doctor tell you the results of everything else and not look at it yourself, too.

i would just let your doctor view them and tell you the results. ask them not to tell you the gender please.
