Hospital distance

How important is hospital distance? My hospital is about an hour away and my sis thinks I’m crazy for planning to give birth there, even though hers is probably 35 minutes away? But my mom has always said you have plenty of time when you’re in labor and that after her water broke she’d take a shower, shave her legs, before she’d hit the road. And her hospital wasn’t down the street either.
