First Trimester Ultrasound

What are your thoughts on ultrasound in first trimester? I never thought too much about it and we had several ultrasounds with our first baby, but we’re considering a midwife and birthing center this time around and she only wants one sonogram done about halfway through the pregnancy. She will do whatever we wish, but now my husband is concerned because even ACOG says just one is recommended about halfway through, but a seasoned sonographer can safely perform one or more sooner. I did some research and there is no evidence that it can cause biological effects. My husband doesn’t want to take any chances (and sadly is pushing for another hospital birth which I’m upset about because of the pandemic) and isn’t sure. I’ll be 7 weeks this week and I was hoping to have a scan next week.
