Leaps- can they be off?

So my LO was due August 5 but born exactly a week early (July 29). So she’s 5 weeks and this week was super hard with her fussiness and daytime sleep. My wonder weeks app says her 5 week leap will be next week because it based on her due date. Buuuut I feel like she already went through it. Could it be based on her birthday? Anyone else who had their baby early experience this? Thanks!

There is quite a bit if information that debunks the wonder weeks. I wouldn’t invest too much energy into it personally.

Tbh I don't put much stock in the "leaps" my kids and no other kid I know matched up to when they "should" be fussy. Newborns go through stages of being more fussy/high maintenance due to their development, which is different for every baby. They're so common in the early days though that the leaps will always hit the mark with some parents, even if they changed all the dates by a week.

Mine was born July 29 too and SAME. He won’t nap thankfully he’s still doing ok at night but if hes not eating or sleeping he’s pissed.

Omg I was wondering the same thing.. my son’s leaps seem to coincide with his birthday and not his due date 🤦🏻‍♀️ I thought it was just me!

My little guy was born 3 weeks early and always goes through the leap right on time with when he was born NOT his due date.

Mine was born three weeks early, but I do think the due date is a bit more accurate in my case - however, it’s not exact, my baby’s current leap definitely started at least a few days before the app called for it, so it’s just a general guideline.
