Prescription nausea meds safe?

Question

Is Zofran safe to take or not safe to take? My doctor wants me to pick up a prescription so that I can keep down food but I’m unsure since I keep reading posts online saying it can cause birth defects. Is it safe and has anyone used it? I also suffer from IBS which causes additional pain and nausea so that’s likely why she prescribed it. I’m 6 weeks if that helps at all.

I have IBS as well, my gastroenterologist said they would never recommend anyone take Zofran during pregnancy because of the proven risk for heart defects. For some reason, the OB I saw said it was perfectly fine 🤦🏼‍♀️ Different doctors say different things. I did end up taking it once when I was desperate though.

I also have IBS.  I was prescribed something different in the beginning of pregnancy for nausea, didn't get the Zofran til at least second trimester.
