Teacher guilt tripping elementary kids
Man I was scrolling through Facebook and I saw this photo and it immediately brought me back to this time in elementary school. I can’t remember what grade I was in but we had a party and someones parent had made a cake. Yall that cake and I weren’t getting along. I really tried to like it but it just wasn’t working out so I did the flip the plate over method with the inclusion of a napkin mountain 😭😂 I don’t know how , maybe the napkins and plate tipped over, but my teacher found it and immediately demanded who did it. I didn’t say anything, the whole class was silent. She then proceeded to lecture us on how mean it is to throw away food people put their hard efforts in and shamed us for throwing it away. Y’all ever since then I never went to the trash to throw away food I couldn’t eat again. I legit started wrapping it up in napkins and stuffed it in my book bag for YEARS. I would forget about the food sometimes and it would rot away for months before the smelll got so bad. But I couldn’t forget what that teacher said and it I feel like I was slightly traumatized for a while LOL 😂. ( it low key added on to my current anxiety too 😭) But I’m thinking about it now and who guilt trips students like that? I get the message and it’s good but come on don’t act like you didn’t throw away something somebody made and you didn’t like before sis , you don’t need to make your elementary students feel like crap because they can’t eat something somebody else made and it just don’t taste right 😭 i get that it’s rude and makes people feel bad but if it’s making me feel sick, I ain’t going to keep eating it 🤷🏽♀️sorry not sorry lol
