Do you know what this mean?

I saw a couple houses (edit - nope just 2 and they were down the street from each other) with a string going all around their whole house. I’m guessing something to do with their religion? Or spirituality? Maybe for protection?

*It’s not a clothes line lol and nothing hangs on it. Literally just wraps the whole house*

I’ve just never seen it so I’m naturally really curious and cannot find anything online about it!!
