A sons a son until he meets a wife 😭

I have 2 beautiful boys (1 and 3). I was asked yesterday in work if I would have more and I said unlikely as we would struggle with childcare etc with 3. I was then told she regretted stopping at 2 boys that she wishes she tried for a girl. She then said a daughters for life but a sons a son until he meets a wife. This left me feeling quite sad. I would love a daughter and I'm sad I've never got to have one (although I am completely happy with my boys) but I wonder if anyone else worries about not having a daughter when they are older. This woman also told me she always feels like second Granny which I thought was quite sad.

I have always debated should we have a third in maybe 3 years to try for our girl. Obviously we would be happy with another boy although is it right to have another baby in the hope it could be a girl.
