IUI is it worth it?

Question

Found out my husband can have kids and im in normal health for a 26 year old. But we've had unprotected sex for 7 years and calculated ovulation never got pregnant. They said maybe his sperm is having a hard time getting through the barrier and suggested IUI. Does it hurt? How worth it is it?

Answer

Doesn't hurt at all. Did 5 rounds before IVF. It was worth it for me because it gave us an added chance and was the lead up to our IVF which was successful. We.live in a state with no mandatory fertility insurance coverage so we paid 100% out of pocket and it did cost a fair amount. So yea it can increase your chance but if insurance doesn't cover it, costs do add up fast.
