Are MacBooks worth it?

I’ve had HP laptops over the years and mine is on its last leg.
I mainly use it for writing books and Sims. I have an iPad, iPhone and am wondering if I should make the plunge for a MacBook.
Is yours worth it?

Mine have been. My first got me through high school, college and my first 3 years of med school with no issues. It eventually just got too slow because it was so old, and it was no question if I’d get another Mac. You might not need a Pro, which is what I’ve used, but an Air is still a good computer. Also, in that same time period my husband has gone through 4 HPs/Dells.

I have a Mac and Windows desktop and a couple of windows laptops.
I never really liked the idea of using a Mac, but then when my mom gave me one as a gift, I fell in love with it! Especially when I started working from home during covid. It’s much faster, fewer update issues, and sims plays better on it lol.
I’d definitely splurge for the Mac over a windows laptop.

I am wondering this too. I have an iPhone and iPad but I normally prefer windows. In general I like a PC but my computer that was about $850 is running horrifically on windows 10 and it’s only 2 years old. I feel like I don’t want to invest another 3k into a windows device and have the same issues so I might switch.

Using a MacBook Pro from late 2013. No decrease in functionality. One of the best investments I’ve ever made. 
Cats knocked it on the floor and broke the screen 1.5 years ago. A local Apple service provider was able to get the screen replaced. Good as new.

Yes, it’s worth it for me. I also do a ton of stuff. But if I was just using the internet and playing sims, I would probably save the money and get a cheap pc.

I used a macbook for project/video editing exclusively. They are great for graphic arts projects and that type of stuff but I prefer a windows one for literally everything else. I have had Lenovos since 2005 and have always been super happy. Do everything I need and more plus way way cheaper than a mac. Honestly it comes down to.personal preference and what it will be used for.

Major regret. I loved my HP, it was alot easier to use I wish I just got another one rather than a macbook
