Solids at 4 months
My pediatrician is recommending to start introducing tiny amounts of solid foods at 4 months. I am seeing that this is a controversial topic and that moms are shamed for feeding babies before 6 months.
My pediatrician says that babies were in the past given solids at 4 months, then the rules were updated to say 6 months is recommended. She said that the change from 4 months to 6 months correlated to a rise in babies developing food allergies. She says that because of these rises in allergies, doctors are on the move to go back to recommending 4 month solids including peanut butter, strawberries, and so fourth.
