Disappointed at myself

So, i went to my doctor because of having an irregular period. They did the blood test granted which i knew I have low iron. The doctor have told me that I cant have kids because I dont ovulate. She put me on birth control for 6 months to 1 year and she said she was hoping it will work. Does anyone experience the same thing?

P.S. I bleed nonstop for a month and only 2 days rest my period will start again thats why she put me on birth control.
