Nexplanon-switching to something else/IUD?

I’ve been on nexplanon for over a year ( year and 3 months) and just when I thought things were getting better they continued the same or worse. ITS SO EFFECTIVE AS A BIRTH CONTROL but the side effects are tiring me out.

It’s effect as a birth control on its own but because of the side effect I can’t even have sex🙄

I am spotting between periods sometimes it’s light, sometimes VERY dark red. My period is every two weeks. My sex drive has gone down increasingly.

Everytime my bf and I want to have spontaneous sex we don’t because I’m either bleeding too much or spotting and I just don’t like it. He doesn’t mind but when he wants to give me head he doesn’t for the same freaking reason!!!

Anyway, rant over. I’m thinking of getting an IUD instead? My friend mentioned she has the non-hormonal one? Can someone give me their personal experience being on the IUD and which kind?
