Should I skip newborn clothes?

I’m a first time mom and have no idea about baby clothes. I’m building my registry and I’m trying to be really careful and not put useless things on there. 
Is it best to just skip newborn size altogether?

My 6.10lb baby was in newborn for 5 weeks. 0-3mo clothing fell off of him in the beginning

My son never wore newborn. Not even newborn diapers 😂 I would say it may be safe to put a few sleep and play outfits on in newborn but may be more useful to keep the majority in 0-3 month size

no you will end up with a naked newborn for months. clothes that fit them well are comfier and safer

I’d say bare minimum of newborn items until you deliver and know how big your baby is. My girl was 8lbs 13oz and wore one newborn outfit home and no newborn diapers. I received a giant box of hand me down newborn clothes that I didn’t even touch.

I tried and my baby wasn’t even that small, 7 lbs 1 Oz, and he was swimming in most 0-3.

I was worried about the same thing and I didn’t have a lot of newborn sizes. My son ended up being born at 37 weeks and only weighed 6 pounds. We had to buy him some premie sizes and a bunch of newborn

Like everyone said, it’s best to have some since it’s so hard to predict what size baby will be when they’re born.
You don’t have to put expensive or even extravagant clothes on your registry. 
I would say focus on clothes that make your life easier! We found zippers and Velcro to be our best friends. Avoid snaps if you can help it with most baby clothes. It’s a headache you don’t need. And given how often you will be changing baby for diapers and spit up- I honestly wouldn’t worry too much about clothes in general.
In my hospital back I brought both newborn outfits and 0-3.
Baby was 8 lbs 12 oz. It was 0-3 on the way home :)

Definitely don’t skip. I thought the same. My baby was born very small at 6 pounds but even now he’s 8.11 and still wearing newborn clothes. I ended up not having enough and had to buy some.

I bought one pack of newborn onesies because I was told my baby was going to be big like 8-9lbs big... I gave birth to a 7lb baby and she was 6lbs when we left the hospital. So I had to get my husband to run out and buy more newborn clothes because we barely had any. She wore new born for about 8 weeks. She’s now 6 months old and still fits in 0-3 month clothes. She’s very petite. 
I maybe wouldn’t buy as many newborn outfits, but I’d definitely get a few since chances are your baby will fit they for a few weeks.
